ISLAMABAD: At least two youth were injured in a gun attack in the Alipur locality within Koral police jurisdiction on Monday.

One of the two youth injured was a local worker of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ). A party spokesperson, however, said the reason behind the clash was personal and nothing to do with his party affiliation.

The ASWJ worker was identified as Aaqib Mehmood while the other man could not be identified. Koral SHO Abdul Ghafoor said no suspect had been arrested till evening. He did not answer any more questions. Another police officer said ‘illicit relations’ were the reason behind the clash.

One of the two injured received a bullet in his right thigh while the other was shot in his right arm. Both were taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

Meanwhile, another man was taken to Polyclinic hospital from the same Alipur locality with bullet injuries. The victim, who was identified as Ali Nawaz, was shot in his right cheek.
