The workshop was organised on the occasion of the visit of Katsutoshi Shiina, a Japanese master of Shotokan karate and also an official instructor at the Japan Karate Association (JKA).
Karate is an internationally recognised form of martial arts originating in Japan and has become popular in Pakistan. It is believed that there are approximately 40,000 karate players in Pakistan.
