Driving course to start in five more districts

After successful pilot project TEVTA and Traffic Police collaboration is extended to more areas

LAHORE: The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has decided to extend free driving learning course to five districts of Punjab, including Multan, Chiniot and Faisalabad.

These views were expressed by TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while addressing a meeting on Thursday, a press release issued by the organisation stated.

He added that TEVTA started driving course in Lahore in collaboration with traffic police a few months ago which received marvelous response from people belonging to all age groups and genders. “Therefore, after the success of the pilot project, TEVTA has decided to extend the project to five other districts of the province,” he announced.

He maintained that in Lahore, youngsters, especially females took admission in large numbers and majority of the learners were students and housewives.  He also revealed that TEVTA also planned to start specialised car and scooter driving courses for females which would be a landmark for the women of Punjab.

Irfan Qaiser Sheikh observed that TEVTA will start another course of English language and personality grooming soon. “Initially, this course will be started in Lahore and once it is successful, the course will be extended to more districts of the province,” he elaborated.
