An Indian national was arrested in Nepal for illegally flying drones, said Nepalase police, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Topten Lama, 20, was a resident of Sikkim and was living in a rented house 10km north of Kathmandu. According to police, he was arrested after he was caught flying a drone from the rooftop of his house.

Lama told police he had bought the drone from a shop in Kathmandu for entertainment purposes. Authorities in Nepal consider drone use illegal. However, there is no specific law to regulate use of drones in Nepal.

Nepalese security agencies remain vigilant over the use of drones as they may be used for spying.
