Turkmen foreign minister due tomorrow on a two-day visit

He will participate in the inaugural session of the Pakistan-Turkmenistan Bilateral Political Consultations

ISLAMABAD: Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Rashid Meredov will reach Islamabad on Monday (tomorrow) on a two-day visit at the invitation of Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.

The Turkmen foreign minister will be leading a high-level delegation to participate in the inaugural session of the Pakistan-Turkmenistan Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC), said a press release issued by the Foreign Office.

“Pakistan and Turkmenistan traditionally enjoy close, cordial relations marked by trust and understanding. Bilateral collaboration in different sectors has been growing steadily,” the press release said.

The visit of the Turkmen foreign minister will reinforce Pakistan’s endeavours to deepen its engagement with Turkmenistan and build a strong economic partnership with the country, it added.

Khan | 6 years ago | Reply He’s going to try to keep pushing TAPI pipeline. We need to avoid any pipeline over Afghanistan, and pick Iran instead.
