ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has finally launched the initiative for judicial reforms.

The chief justice on Saturday started his mission by visiting the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi where he offered Fateha and prayed for the country’s success, peace and tranquility.

He pledged to take judicial reforms to fruition expeditiously so that the general public begins to reap the benefits of this initiative as soon as possible.

The CJP will also chair all Pakistan Chief Justices Conference to launch judicial reforms in the later in the evening.

CJP moves to lighten caseload burden

Moreover, the CJP will spend a busy schedule in the Supreme Court Branch Registry Karachi where he will hear different public interest litigation and will in the evening preside over the concluding session of the third Provincial Judicial Conference 2018 arranged by Sindh Judicial Academy.

Accepting the challenge of reducing huge pendency, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday decided to introduce judicial reforms to mitigate miseries of the litigants.

SHC top judge sends six names for consideration of JCP

After several months of delay, the chief justice, being chairman of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP), appointed Dr Abdul Rahim Awan as new secretary LJCP recently. The appointment is significant to introduce new reforms. Till December 15, 37,694 cases are pending in the apex court.

Likewise, the CJP has earlier also chaired a meeting on judicial reforms in the Supreme Court that was attended by Lahore High Court Chief Justice Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, officers of the Supreme Court, Lahore High Court and Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan. The chief justice took the briefing from Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on judicial reforms in Punjab.
