LAHORE: On an application of Aamna Taseer, the wife of late Punjab governor Salman Taseer, an FIR has been registered against Samira Ahmed Zia, an ex-secretary of Aamna, with Anar Kali police station for dishonouring a cheque. The matter is under investigation by the police. In her complaint filed with police, Aamna said Samira owed her Rs300,000 for which she issued various cheques. When one of the cheques (Rs50,000) was presented to the relevant bank, it was informed that Samira has given instructions to the bank to stop the payment. Aamna said she has also forwarded another application to Cantonment police station over fraud charges of Rs8.5 million, forgery and theft of property documents against Samira, on which no action has been taken by police so far.
