KARACHI: The end of 2017 saw the release of a number of Pakistani films that cinemagoers eagerly waited for. Movie theatres were flooded for Shaan’s Arth – The Destination, Rangreza and Chupan Chupai. Unfortunately, none of them managed to do well at the box office. One character that everyone was expecting a lot from was Gohar Rasheed’s Waseem Wallay in Rangreza.
Usually seen essaying unconventional roles, a source revealed that the versatile actor will be next seen in the upcoming Maula Jatt. Under Bilal Lashari’s direction, the remake of Sultan Rahi’s classic will feature Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malick. Gohar is the reportedly the latest addition to the cast of the much-awaited film.
Gohar has earlier played Zia-ul-Haq in Anwar Maqsood's plays and was also seen as Duke in Moulin Rouge. Coming from theatre, it comes as no surprise that he is one to have pulled off exemplary roles.
Following out of the box character Waseem Wallay and with Maula Jatt in the works, we're eagerly waiting to find out which character from the original he would be playing in the remake.
