
In a statement, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen said that 702 proclaimed offenders had been arrested during the last fifteen days of last month. Twenty cases of murder, three cases of kidnapping, four cases of dacoity or robbery cum murder, four cases of dacoity and 31 cases of robbery were challaned. The police also recovered 20 stolen cars and 58 stolen motorcycles, he said.
Tareen urged the city’s policemen to continue taking effective action against criminals. He said they should pay special attention to combating land grabbers. He said that police officials who made illegal arrests and tortured citizens would be punished. He said citizens should be made to feel safe and that their complaint has been addressed when they report crimes at police stations.
