Trump's tirade: Pakistan can regain respect because of rulers who stash wealth abroad: Imran
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Saturday that Nawaz Sharif and not the masses were deceitful as such rulers indulge in money laundering to fulfill their greed.
Khan was referring to the US President Donald Trump's tweet last week in which he accused Pakistan of being deceitful despite receiving billions of dollars in aid, Express News reported.
"Pakistan would never have to face embarrassment had the rulers not sought aid from the US," he told supporters at a rally in Chakwal.
The US, he added, is blaming Pakistan for its failure in the war in Afghanistan, despite the war having a detrimental effect on the tribal areas and its people.
Honorable SC bench can’t give verdict against their ‘favourite one’, says Nawaz
According to the PTI chief, the nation will only receive due respect and dignity if the rulers refrained from indebting the country with loans and stashing money abroad.
"Instead of giving an account of the looted money, the former premier is speaking a threatening tone against the courts, and is defaming the military and [other] institutions," he said.
Khan went on to add that Sharif is begging to the Saudi royal family to safe him from being penalised by the courts.
On Saturday, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif said the honourable five-judge bench which had disqualified him couldn't give a verdict against the ‘favourite one’ Imran Khan, who had accepted owning an offshore company.
