ICT slaps ban on fireworks

Administration also prohibits display of all kind of fireworks, aerial firing, other wasteful expenses at weddings

ISLAMABAD: The civil administration has invoked the austerity laws for marriages besides the ban on fireworks and loud music on wedding functions. The ICT District Magistrate Capt (retd) on Thursday directed all concerned to ensure compliance of law regarding ‘One Dish’ and prescribed lights out timing (10pm) at marriage functions within the limits of federal capital’s territory.

The administration has also prohibited display of all kind of  fireworks, aerial firing and other wasteful expenses at marriage functions.

“With reference to sections 3,4 and 5 of the Marriage Functions (Prohibition of Ostentatious Displays and Wasteful Expenses) Ordinance 2000 and in line with the judgment of SC, no person will explode cracker and other explosive device including firing, or firearm, or display, or allow anyone to display fireworks,” read the notice.
