KOLKATA: India’s tea exports to Pakistan and Afghanistan reached an all-time high in 2010 and producers and exporters are increasingly looking to utilise third-country platforms to cement this position, sources say.
Official statistics for January-May show that exports to Afghanistan and Pakistan increased to 12.2 million kg from 7.4 million kg in the year-ago period. Exports to these countries were estimated to have touched 20 million kg by December.
