Tragic end: Seminary student found dead

Man killed for resisting robbery bid

FAISALABAD: A seminary student was found dead in the area of Jhang Bazaar police station.

The police said that they received information by the administration of Madrassa Sirajia Zainabul Uloom situated in Liaqatabad area that a 10-year-old student Ejaz was found dead on the roof of the seminary.

On receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and took three students Ehsan, Sajjad and Shoaib into custody for investigation.

However, the police claimed that Ehsan confessed that he had strangled Ejaz to death.

The police shifted the body to Allied Hospital for legal formalities. Further investigation was underway.

In another incident, a man was shot dead when he resisted a robbery attempt in the jurisdiction of Sadar police station.

The police said the bandits intercepted a motorcyclist Binyameen, a resident of Chak No 56-GB, near Dheesian and demanded money from him.

As he offered resistance, the bandits opened fire killing him on the spot.

Meanwhile, three people, including a minor girl, were killed in separate road accidents in the city. A police official said that 50-year-old Abdul Shakoor Anjum, a resident of Chak No 76-JB Jodhan, was riding a motorcycle when a speedy loader crushed him to death near Chohlapulli.

Similarly, five-year-old Maryam Bibi was crushed to death by a speedy tractor trolley in Chak No 56-JB.

In another accident, 52-year-old Shaukat was killed when his motorcycle slipped near Niamoana Mandi, Sammundri Road.
