In the motion, PPP said that Trump's recent statement was insulting and baseless; the statement has been made intentionally to make Pakistan appear to the world as a promoter of terrorism, which we condemn.

It further said that the US should remember the sacrifices made by Pakistan to deal with terrorism. "Instead of making such statements, US should play its role in the fight against terrorism," it added.
The adjournment motion further said that the US was trying to hide its failure in Afghanistan and the Middle East by making such statements.
"Our aim is nothing but to create peace in the region. Pakistan is an independent and self-reliant country which knows how to safeguard its own interests. US aid cannot be compared to the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism."

PPP believes that it is a very significant matter and should be brought to the House immediately.
The motion was submitted by Syed Naveed Qamar, Nafisa Shah, Shazia Marri, Muhammad Yousif Talpur, Aijaz Jakhrani, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Ghulam Mustafa Shah and others.

Exercising powers conferred to him by clause (1) of Article 54 of the Constitution, President Mamnoon Hussain summoned the session of the National Assembly (NA) on Friday, January 12, in the Parliament House, Islamabad at 10:30 am.
