Pakistan’s sacrifices unmatched, says Marriyum

Visits Pakistan Sweet Homes that took responsibility of many children who lost parents to terrorist acts

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday said the entire nation, as well as the government, acknowledged the enormous sacrifices rendered by the armed forces, the police and other law-enforcement agencies in the war against terrorism.

She made these remarks during a visit to the Pakistan Sweet Homes in Rawalpindi. Speaking there, she said Pakistan had paid both human and financial cost in the fight against terrorism.

“Our people have lost their loved ones in the war on terror, but despite all this they are still determined to sacrifice their lives for their motherland,” she said.



The state minister said Pakistan's sacrifices were unparalleled, adding, "Even our children laid down their lives for the motherland."

She maintained that no sacrifice could be bigger than the children's as “the smallest coffins are the heaviest”.

Meanwhile, lauding the performance of the Pakistan Sweet Homes, Marriyum said Chairman Zamarrud Khan's efforts for the orphans were laudable. "We as a nation need to stay above our political differences to contribute towards this noble cause," she emphasised.

On the occasion, she announced that a public awareness campaign would be launched for increasing the membership of the Homes. For the purpose, the state-run PTV, Radio Pakistan and Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) would play their part, she added.



In his remarks, Zamarrud said they took the responsibility of many children who lost their parents in terrorist incidents.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated a pharmacy shop at the Pakistan Sweet Homes. She also visited a hostel for the girls and interacted with them. Children at the Sweet Homes also presented a tableau that earned huge appreciation from the minister.
