Two convicted for murdering rival

After hearing the arguments, the judge handed down a death sentence

SARGODHA: A court awarded a death sentence and a life term to two accused for their involvement in a murder case in Sargodha on Tuesday.

The judgment was announced by Additional Sessions Judge Javed Iqbal Ranjha. The prosecution told the court that accused Muhammad Azam and his accomplices Rustam Shahzad, Muhammad Sher, Nasr Hayat, Nazir Ahmad, Muhammad Usman, and Shahzad Ahmad had murdered their opponent Muhammad Usman over enmity in 2013.

After hearing the arguments, the judge handed down death sentence to Muhammad Azam along with a fine of Rs300,000 as compensation money.

The court also awarded life term to Rustam and imposed a fine of Rs300,000 on him.
