KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) reserved its order on Monday in the bail plea filed by Abdul Rehman alias Bhola, the prime suspect in the Baldia factory fire case.

Rauf Siddiqui, Adeeb Khanum and Dr Abdul Sattar were also present during the hearing. The police have declared me innocent, said Siddiqui in his written objection. The court also summoned Ali Hassan Kadri to appear at the hearing on December 30. The special public prosecutor stated that Umar Hassan Kadri should also be considered for investigation.

The investigation officer was ordered to record the statements of all the offenders, including Umar, and present the report in court on the next hearing. Sattar and Khanum also put forth their bail pleas during the hearing.

Advocate Hassan Sabir stated that his client had no involvement in the case and that he has been declared innocent in the police challan. "Even Bhola did not name him; hence the bail plea of my client should be accepted," the counsel argued.

The court granted interim bail to both offenders against a surety of Rs100,000 and adjourned the hearing till December 30. It reserved its decision in Bhola’s bail plea.
