Jappa returns as PHDF CEO

Zafar Haider Jappa on Monday returned to the Pakistan Human Development Fund hot seat.

A notification in this regard was issued by the Revenue Division of the Federal Board of Revenue on Monday where Jappa had been serving as the secretary.

“In pursuance of Pakistan Human Development Fund’s (PHDF) letter dated October 16, 2017, the services of Muhammad Zafar Harder Jappa (IRS/Basic Pay Scale-18) presently posted as Secretary (OPS), Federal Board of Revenue (Headquarters), Islamabad are placed at the disposal of the PHDF in Islamabad on deputation basis,” read the notification, adding that Jappa will be posted to the department for a period of three years.

The notification further said that the posting was on standard terms and conditions and would see Jappa posted as the chief executive officer (CEO) of PHDF.

Jappa is a graduate of the Potsdam University in Germany. His academic career has also taken him to the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi, the Government College University of Lahore and to the Geneva Centre for Security Policy Switzerland.

He was originally appointed in the Inland Revenue Service and has gone on to serve in senior positions in the Punjab government, the Prime Minister Office, Ministry of Housing and Works in Islamabad.

Jappa has delved into extensive research work and has contributed in The Express Tribune on economic issues.
