Second Invention to Innovation Summit to start on Wednesday

Notable academics and businesspersons to speak at the event

KARACHI: The inauguration ceremony of the second Sindh Invention to Innovation Summit will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at 10am at the HEJ Auditorium at the University of Karachi (KU).

Higher Education Commission Chairperson Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed will be the chief guest at the ceremony while KU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan will preside over the occasion.

According to the programme, speakers on the first day of the summit will include Institute of Research Promotion Chief Executive Officer Abid HK Shinwari,  Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Zubair Tufail, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry President Tariq Malik, University of Sindh VC Prof Dr Fateh M Burfat, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology VC Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology Chairperson Dr Anwarul Hasan Gilani and Pakistan Science Foundation Chairperson Dr Muhammad Ashraf.

Governor to inaugurate three-day AERC conference

The summit will conclude on Thursday, December 21 at 4:30pm at KU's Arts Auditorium. Pakistan Science Foundation Chairperson Dr Muhammad Ashraf will be the chief guest on the second day of the summit, which will feature speeches Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Muffasar Atta Malik, Iqra University VC Prof Dr Wasim Qazi, Shah Abdul Latif University VC Prof Dr Parveen Shah, Jinnah University for Women VC Prof Dr Naeem Farooqui and SITE Association of Industry Chairperson Jawed Bilwani.

The two-day summit will also feature exhibitions of technology prototypes in water, food and energy sectors, training sessions for academia and industry, and workshops on organic foods and health.
