Mahira Khan was recently spotted in Dubai for Masala! UAE's 10th award show, where she stunned in a beautiful Rami Al Ali gown.

While Mahira made quite a few headlines in 2017, the Pakistani starlet is more than ready to kick start 2018. Talking about the same in an interview at the recently held Masala! Awards, the Bol actor said, “I am looking forward to 2018. I have some interesting projects lined up. I am doing a comedy film for the first time ever. I am nervous about excited as well. It is called Saat Din Mohabbat In for now.”

But what is more exciting is that she is coming together with her Humsafar co-star Fawad Khan once again in 2018.

“Yes, I am super thrilled about Maula Jatt, which is a Punjabi film and I unite with Fawad Khan after Humsafar.” The two are coming together after six years and she is already feeling the pressure. “We are expected to create the same magic like Humsafar, but the two projects – Maula Jatt and Humsafar are totally different,” she revealed.

While that is about her work in Pakistan, the Raees actor also hopes that she is able to return to Bollywood and do some project in India as well. “I hope. The future generations should be able to see and collaborate and see peaceful times ahead,” Mahira said.

Talking candidly about the controversy that momentarily took over her life, Mahira asserted, “I have become unconsciously more conscious after that  unfortunate incident.”

Talking about her take away from all that happened, the Verna star shared, “Lot of realisations happened. One of those what this is what we have become as a society. With social media being an easily available tool, it is quick and easy for anyone to go out there and post something.”

Talking about the uncomplicated pre-social media time, Mahira said that before she became active on social media, she had never experienced so much negativity. “Yes you can connect with your fans and there’s positivity but then there are people who just write whatever they want,” she said adding that these are the times we are living in.

The incident may have failed to break Mahira’s spirits or her attitude but she revealed how it did affect her. “They affect all of us… at some level. Though I have an ‘I don’t care’ attitude, but it does affect you. But you have to know what you are, think about what you have gained or lost,” the Ho Mann Jahaan star shared.

However, that wasn’t the only controversy that Mahira found herself surrounded within.

Her recent film Verna too was caught in controversy regarding the content and the way it was portrayed on screen. But Mahira feels that when these things are happening, you just have to push back. “Smile and move on and you will realise that in time, everything gets okay,” she asserted.

The actor has certainly given us a mantra to live by and left us hoping that we get to see her grace the big screen yet again!
