‘Shared history, shared future’ opens at BZU

Exhibition is a celebration of 70 years of friendship between UK and Pakistan

MULTAN: The British High Commission opened a photo exhibition at the Art Gallery in Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan to celebrate 70 years of UK-Pakistan links. The exhibition “Shared history, shared future” has been organised by the British High Commission.

The exhibition has been displayed in nine cities across Pakistan. In the UK, the exhibition is currently on display until the end of the year in The Library of Birmingham, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow and the Manchester Central Library.

While speaking to the participants, British High Commission Head of Communications Samuel Heath said, “We are delighted to bring our exhibition to the wonderful city of Multan and to host it in one of Punjab’s largest universities.”

He added, “The exhibition is a celebration of 70 years of friendship between the two countries and our ties in trade, sports, politics, development, defence, education, infrastructure and culture.”

Samuel maintained, “The exhibition has toured over 15 cities in both the UK and Pakistan and I am glad that we are finishing the tour in the important city of Multan.”

Throughout the year, the British High Commission, in collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission in London, had been organising events and activities to mark 70 years of friendship between the UK and Pakistan.
