Compliance with quality standards stressed

109 items, including 37 food items, 64 non-food items, 8 energy efficiency items are being regulated by PSQCA

ISLAMABAD: Compliance of standards and quality will help in sustainable promotion of business activities. The private sector should make efforts to produce and sell standard and quality compliant raw material, to improve its business prospects.

This was stated by the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) Director General Muhammad Khalid Siddiq. He was speaking at an awareness seminar organised by PSQCA and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to educate the business community about the importance of compliance of standards and quality.

PSQCA to submit proposal in next meeting

He said that PSQCA was regulating 109 items, which included 37 food items, 64 non-food items and eight energy efficiency items. Siddiq said that total 22,368 standards were in vogue in Pakistan to ensure that consumers get good quality products.
