Last weekend Peshawar rejoiced and celebrated the love of food in the most magnificent manner.
7UP Fiesta was a foodie festival, which was hosted at the newly-constructed Hayatabad Food Street. This was the first food and cultural festival in Peshawar and 7UP certainly put up a notable event. Considering that the city has suffered much at the hands of terrorism, the response from the public was surprisingly startling.
The famous 7UP blends grabbed a lot of attention. People eagerly tried them and loved each aspect of it. 7UP entertained the crowd with its cooking competitions, open-mic cultural shows and talent hunt activities that ardently reflected the culture of Pakistan.
An astounding variety of scrumptious delicacies were present at the event which attracted a crowd of 10 000 to 12 000 Peshawaris, making it a house full. People definitely admired the eclectic foods because not a single stall was empty.
An act of kindness by Peshawar Food Diaries which melted our hearts was that they invited 300 students from the orphanage Dar al Atfal to eat, drink and have fun in the play area without spending a penny.
In the midst of all the food and excitement, the touch of magical musical performances by Badnaam, Abdullah Qureshi, Sawaal Band, Reet band and Jehanzaib Bangash made the evening even more special.
The memorable night hosted by 7UP was staged for the encouragement of such similar, future events which Peshawar unfortunately lacks. 7UP undertook a laudable initiative to unite people through the medium of food at a grandiose event that was undeniably eye-catching.
