Police official arrested for aiding Sakhi Sarwar blast mastermind

Behram Khan reveals the police officer had helped in buying hand grenades.

DERA GHAZI KHAN:

A police Muharrar was arrested after the Sakhi Sarwar shrine bombing mastermind Behram Khan revealed that he used to buy hand grenades from him.

Police officials confirmed that the bomber told police officials that he had bought a lot of equipment from a police official. Police has started monitoring the activities of several men in the district whose names have been included in the fourth schedule. “We are monitoring the activities of 155 Afghan trained terrorists who the bomber claimed to have links with,” he said. During interrogation, Sarwar shrine bombing mastermind Behram Khan alias Sufi Baba revealed that he was making preparations to attack the Taunsa Sharif shrine in the first weeks of May 7. A police muharrar named Masik Ali was arrested. The man worked with the border police station. Khan told police that Ali used to provide him with arms from the police stock of seized weapons.

Maria | 12 years ago | Reply @Hedgefunder: If you review some of the comments, you will find that some are critical of the same police and security forces who have put their lives on the line to defend the civilian population. I don't believe for a minute that it is fair to paint the security personnel of Pakistan with one brush. To put it into perspective, there are rogue police and security officers in other countries. In recent years, police and security forces in Italy and the United States were exposed with having links to organized crime. Read the article and comments before you attack another person's comments or are you too busy playing up your pro Indian rhetoric every chance you get? I can't understand why news in India isn't your first priority but so many Indians seem obsessed with following events in Pakistan.

There z no doubt that over a period of recent years, Pakistani LEAs hv suffred considerable losses of life n limb, at the hands of these animals......but I just hv a simple question for ya. Who is responsible for creating these monsters, nurturing them and then letting them loose amongst us? Point to Ponder Maria. Isnt it ? U cant sow Potatoes n expect a crop of Tomatoes. Now can we deny the apprehensions shown by NATO and our other friends??? JI is already on a very close watch (terrorist organization) according the wikileaks recently published in Guardian and New York Times.

Tauseef Barlas: Whether or not this allegation against the police officer is true, it does not deter from the fact that the majority of our police and law enforcement personnel have been serving with distinction and many have given their lives in the fight against anti state criminals.Even in the United States and Europe, you periodically head of police who are involved with criminal gangs. Don't paint everyone on the security agencies with the same brush.

Can we expect a change with the existing leadership - being inducted into the system through a sysytem - which aime to produce grade 20 & 21 officers instead of public servants. It is an Irony that despite all what has so far happened in the country - no serious effort has been made to reform the Policing. There are countless incidents that can be attributed to Police failure. Do our politicians feel it as a need - to improve their governance.
