Bugti says terrorists are using Afghan soil with state patronage

PESHAWAR: Terrorists are using the Afghan soil with the patronage of Afghan state and such elements were carrying out terrorist attacks in Pakistan, Balochistan Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti maintained on Sunday.

He was speaking with reporters after visiting the Khyber Teaching Hospital, where he went to inquire after the health of victims injured in Friday’s terrorist attack on the Agricultural Training Institute.

He urged the Afghan government and global community to take notice of Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and National Directorate of Security’s (NDS) support for terrorist activities in Pakistan.

According to him, Afghan soil was being used for carrying out terrorist activities inside Pakistan because all such elements had been flushed out from the country in the wake of military operations.



“All terrorists were flushed out during the Radd-ul-Fasad military operation. They are now using Afghan soil. We know how militants are operating from across the border with the patronage of Afghanistan,” Bugti said.

He insisted that RAW and NDS were involved in targeting children, lawyers and people from all walks of life.

Appreciating the people and security forces operating in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said: “The Balochistan government is encouraged by the way the people, police and security forces have been combatting terrorists,” he said, adding ‘I appreciate the K-P police’s response to the terrorist attack.’

Commenting on the situation in Balochistan, Bugti said that the situation was under control and there were some angry Balochs, but some traitorous elements living abroad were being financially supported by RAW.

Bugti said that the entire nation was alert and it had stood fast against terrorism.
