Gender Inclusive: Eight women get ATS badges

The policewomen have received the badges after a gruelling training

ISLAMABAD: At least eight women were part of the 52-member of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) that got their badges on Thursday after a gruelling training.

Speaking at the passing out parade, SSP Muhammad Bin Ashraf said the 12th batch of ATS will go a long way in combating any untoward situation in Islamabad.

The smartly turned out contingent demonstrated the skills of weapon-handling, disarming the terrorists, shooting, climbing buildings, intercepting vehicles, conducting raids, rescuing injured officials and attacking the outlaws.

He called upon the ATS officials to be alert to handle the untoward situations. “In the prevailing situation, high preparedness of law enforcement agencies is necessary to counter the designs of terrorists effectively,” the SSP said. He said ATS was raised with the sole purpose of counter-terrorism, he maintained.
