KHANEWAL: Armed men looted cash and valuables for different areas of the city in separate incidents on Saturday.
Police said Muhammad Akram Khokhar, a resident of Basti Inayatpur, Sadar Kabirwala police jurisdiction, was returning home from market when he was intercepted by three armed men. They snatched cash worth Rs50,000 from him and shot at and injured him over offering resistance.
In another incident, two unidentified armed men barged into the house of one Asghar Chohan in Chak No 74/10-R in Sadar Khanewal police precincts.
They held the family hostage at gunpoint and took away cash Rs200,000, gold jewellery and other valuables.
