LAHORE: The Pakistan Pharmacists’ Association staged a protest in front of the Punjab Assembly on Monday to demand that pharmacists be paid the same pay as doctors in govt service. PPA general secretary Nadeem Iqbal said that according to recent announcement by the govt, doctors would start their service in grade 9 (equivalent to BS 18), while pharmacists would start in grade 8 (equivalent to a BS 17). “If one looks at academic qualifications, pharmacists have more credit hours and academic years than doctors,” said Iqbal.
