The Swiss government rejected self-exiled Baloch separatist leader Brahumdagh Bugti’s application for political asylum on Thursday.
Bugti took to social networking website Twitter to express dismay at the rejection. “After more than seven years of waiting Switzerland has now rejected my application for political asylum,” he wrote.

The self-exiled Baloch Republican Army leader had earlier also tried to seek political asylum in India after the Swiss authorities turned down a similar request last year.
A number sedition cases are registered against Brahamdagh for supporting the Indian prime minister’s blatant interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs.
The cases were registered after the Baloch separatist lauded Narendra Modi’s speech on India’s independence day last year in which he accused Pakistan of human rights abuses in Balochistan.
Switzerland rejects Brahamdagh Bugti’s asylum plea
Pakistan had also accelerated the process of obtaining Interpol’s red warrants against Bugti in September last year.
Brahamdagh had fled to Afghanistan after his grandfather Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed in a military operation in Kohlu in 2006. Later he flew to Switzerland via India to seek asylum there. He is accused of leading the Baloch Republican Army, a proscribed separatist group blamed for militant violence in Balochistan.
While fleeing to Afghanistan, Brahamdagh Bugti had accused the Musharraf regime of trying to kill him as well. He won refuge in Afghanistan despite Pakistan’s request for his return, and later moved to Europe in 2010 along with his family.
The provincial home minister Sarfraz Bugti also took to Twitter to respond to Brahamdagh Bugti.

Taking it a step further, the home minister also requested Twitter to remove Brahamdagh and Mehran Marri’s Twitter handles.
I would like to request @Twitter to suspended the handles of @BBugti and @MehranMarri. Both persons are currently heading terror outfits, which are responsible for killing innocent people.
