LAHORE: Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has introduced the first ever Indigenous Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme for PhD faculty members of provincially chartered public sector universities/colleges in the province.

This was declared by PHEC Chairperson Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin during the 11th meeting of the PHEC Commission. Dr Nizamuddin added that PHEC had always focused on enhancing learning and career advancement opportunities for faculty members of public sector HEIs.

PhD no longer necessary for appointment as VC

“Through this innovative initiative, our scholars will be trained locally to hone their research skills at universities and research institutes of Punjab. This programme has been introduced especially for faculty members, particularly women, who are unable to avail such openings abroad,” Dr Nizam informed the commission members.
