Chinese diplomats, army chief discuss regional security

Chinese officials acknowledge and appreciate Pakistan Army's contributions to peace and stability in the region

Newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing and Special Envoy on Korean Peninsula Affairs of China Kong Xuanyou called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the diplomats lauded Pakistan Army's contributions to peace and stability in the region.

The regional security situation was discussed in detail, the military's media wing said.

On November 17, Chinese Special Envoy for Afghanistan Ambassador Deng Xijun called on General Bajwa to discuss matters of mutual interest including regional security issues with particular emphasis on Pak-Afghan border management and counter-terrorism efforts came under discussion during the meeting.
