RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Friday, as part of its ongoing drive of checking food outlets slapped fines on three eateries and issued notices to others for want of hygiene standards. The department’s spokesman said that RCB had issued notices to 15 outlets to improve cleanliness and levied fine of Rs10,000 on Shinwari Restaurant, Hot and Roll and Ameen Hotel for improper cleanliness arrangements. He further said that strict action is being taken against violators to ensure provision of hygienic food to the residents and customers. Earlier, the board’s food department officials had checked various milk supply vehicles in Saddar area and on poor quality and adulterated milk, imposed cumulative fine of Rs20,000. The team had slapped a total fine of Rs15,000 on Rawal Fish Shop, Al-Farooq Murgh Pulao and Mashallah Hotel over poor hygiene condition.
