Service regulations: CDA suspends two for misconduct

Deputy director hid record from auditors and a tube well operator was involved in a murder

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority has suspended the services of two of its employees for acts of misconduct.

The suspended employees include a deputy director and a tube-well operator.

The services of the employees have been suspended under Clause 8.05, 9.02 and 9.03 of CDA Employees (Services) Regulation 1992. The suspension order of both has been issued with the approval of CDA chief.

CDA Member Administration Yasir Pirzada has said that discipline in the official working is top priority. The official and officers disrespecting official norms and procedure will have to face disciplinary proceedings.

In terms of Clause 8.05 of CDA employees (Services) Regulations 1992 the services of Maintenance-III Deputy Director Mushtaq Ahmad have been placed under suspension with immediate effect till further orders for not providing record to audit party.

Similarly, the services of Water Supply Directorate Tube Well Operator Tahir Iqbal have been placed under suspension vide Clause No. 9.02 and 9.03 of CDA Employees (Services) Regulations, 1992 with effect from 24-07-2017 (date of absence) till further orders due to his involvement in murder case vide FIR No. 322, dated 23-07-2017 under Section 302/427, 148/149 PPC, lodge with Secretariat Police Station.

During their suspension period they will draw subsistence grant equal to full pay and allowances that they were drawing immediately before their suspension.

Meanwhile, Islamabad High Court (IHC) had directed Islamabad police to register an FIR against people who injured CDA officials during operation against encroachers.

Justice Shoukat Aziz Siddiqui passed the directions while hearing a plea moved by Islamabad Transport Owners and Passengers Welfare Association regarding illegal bus stands and parking in the green belt area of Islamabad.

During the course of proceedings, CDA Director Enforcement Taj Ahmed Warsi appeared before the court on wheelchair and informed the bench that during operation against encroachments outside the Centaurus Mall, “the management of the mall pelted stones on us.” However, Akram Sheikh counsel for the Centaurus Mall appeared before the bench and said CDA took action against my client without serving any prior notice.
