KARACHI: A software known as the 'Read Eye Hotel Software' has been installed at around 20 key hotels in Karachi as part of taking extraordinary measures being taken for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said Sindh Inspector-General of Police (IG) Allah Dino Khawaja, adding that similar software would be installed at hotels in Hyderabad and Sukkur soon.

He said this while presiding over a follow up meeting of CPEC's security at the Central Police Office on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by senior police officials, including additional IGs of the Special Branch, administration, Karachi, headquarters, Rapid Response Force (RRF) and finance.

The IG directed district SSPs to hold scheduled meetings with representatives of the chambers and industrial zones on district level and ensure security measures for the CPEC and non-CPEC Chinese and foreigners under standard operating system.
IG Khawaja directed RRF deputy inspector-general to submit a 15-day audit security report of the CPEC projects and directed district SSPs to submit a similar report each month.
