SOPS for ‘khulli kutcheries’ in K-P issued

PESHAWAR: The K-P government Friday notified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding holding public hearings or khulli kutcheris aiming to enhance confidence people in the state machinery, giving opportunity to people to speak out on public issues openly and create a sense of ownership amongst them. An official release stated that all provincial administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners in K-P have been directed to observe the SOPs in its letter and spirit in the best public interest. The holding of public hearings shall demonstrate that services are provided at the door steps of the public. The deputy commissioners along with heads of all line departments have been directed to participate in person in khulli kutcheris.
