Business houses asked to teach accounting ethics

ACCA Global CEO delivered address on 'Professional Accountants - the Future'

KARACHI: Experts have urged business houses to teach accounting ethics to professionals working in their departments in a bid to avoid bad practices as the digital world is increasingly facing cybercrimes.

“Pakistan needs to increase ethics among professionals at this important time when China has launched multibillion-dollar mega projects in Pakistan under the CPEC,” ACCA Global CEO Helen Brand said at an event.

She was delivering her address on “Professional Accountants - the Future” at the launch of Ethics and Professional Skills Module: Ethics and Trust in a Digital Age by the ACCA on Thursday.

Center of Excellence in Responsible Business Executive Director Fuad Hashimi said the updated code of corporate governance, which is in place at every listed company, had enabled ethical practices at business houses.
