LAHORE: Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Department Secretary Naseem Sadiq said the people who were supplying adulterated milk with dangerous chemicals were the real ‘parasites’ hitting the livestock sector. He said the livestock department was taking strict action against the fake and adulterated milk suppliers in Punjab.

He issued this statement while speaking at a two-day International Parasitology Conference (PARACON) on Wednesday at UVAS City Campus. The UVAS Department of Parasitology, in collaboration with Pakistan Society of Parasitology and Higher Education Commission (HEC), organised the event.

43% Pakistanis remain ‘food insecure’

Sadiq presided over the inaugural session of the conference, while UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Faculty of Veterinary Science Dean Dr Masood Rabbani, Department of Parasitology Chairman and Pakistan Society of Parasitology President Dr Kamran Ashraf and other renowned veterinary and medical practitioners, parasitologists and molecular biologists from different countries attended PARACON. Speaking on the occasion, Sadiq thanked UVAS for arranging an informative conference and called on national and foreign experts to suggest recommendations to eradicate parasites in animals.
