LAHORE: Engro Polymer and Chemicals, a subsidiary of Engro Corporation, has expressed interest in establishing the country’s first Naphtha Cracker Complex to provide much-needed growth to the petrochemical industry.

Chief Executive Officer Imran Anwar, without providing a definitive roadmap, said that Engro is engaging with various partners including Mitsubishi, United Arab Emirates and Chinese companies who have already expressed their willingness to invest in Pakistan.

Engro Polymer’s profit jumps 4,600%

“Let’s build our own naphtha cracker as Pakistan needs it,” Anwar said in a symposium, attended by corporate gurus, diplomats along with Federal Minister for Commerce and Textiles Pervaiz Malik on Tuesday. He requested the minister to form a one-window setup to steward this endeavour.
