A farmer lost his life after falling in a well

LAHORE: A man was tortured to death over monetary dispute in the area of Sadar police station.

A police official said that 24-year-old Iftikhar, a resident of Sehgal City, had an argument with Imran and others over a monetary dispute.

He added in a fit of rage, accused Imran and his accomplices tortured and injured Iftikhar and fled the scene. The locals shifted the victim to a hospital for treatment but he could not survive. The police have registered a case against the accused and started investigation.

In another incident, a man ended his life by committing suicide in the area of Sadar police station. The police said that 23-year-old Asif Anayat, a resident of Duddiwala, was upset over a domestic dispute. In sheer frustration, he consumed poisonous pills and ended his life.

Meanwhile, a farmer died after falling in a well in the area of Sandal Bar police station. The police said 20-year-old Saqlain was irrigating his fields in Chak No 255-JB when he accidentally slipped and fell into the well. The deceased’s body was shifted to Allied Hospital for legal formalities.

Two police officials were suspended for non-compliance of orders of senior officers. CPO Athar Ismaeel suspended ASIs Ijaz and Ghulam Murtaza posted at Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station.
