Security arrangements for 549 birthday celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak reviewed

LAHORE: Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairperson Siddiqul Farooq visited Gurduwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib on Sunday and reviewed arrangements for 549 birthday celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak. Leaders of the Sikh community, administration of Gurdawara Janam Asthan and officials of the local district administration were also present on the occasion.

Thousands of Sikhs from across the world are expected to arrive in Lahore on November 2 to take part in the celebrations. The chairperson ensured facilities especially fool-proof security on the occasion to avoid any untoward incident.

He said that some selfish elements were creating hurdles in the way of establishment of International Guru Naka University Nankana. “I am grateful to Sikh community, civil society, media and youths who have supported me to set up the university.”
