HARIPUR: The Haripur police have nabbed two suspected drug pushers and recovered large quantities of hashish and heroin from them. Officials said that the police conducted raids in the vicinity of the Haripur University to nab suspects supplying narcotics to students. During the search operation, officials caught Osama Khattak and Younas Ashraf. They recovered two and three kilogrammes of heroin from them respectively. The two were booked under the narcotics act and detained in the police lock-up. The two are believed to supply drugs to students living in the hostel of Haripur university. Police, however, are investigating this aspect. Officials say they will continue searching areas adjacent to university to track suspected drug suppliers. Sources said that apart from police, personnel from other security forces also joined the door-to-door search operation. Officials also questioned Afghan refugees living in the area. City police station SHO Saeed Khan said that officials from security agencies had also joined the search operation. He assured that the two drug suppliers will be charge-sheeted and presented before the local magistrate. Saeed added that in the past three months, they had confiscated drugs worth Rs60 million.
