Two suspects arrested over land dispute

Police also recovered arms from the accused

BAHAWALPUR: Police arrested two suspects over a land dispute in the limits of Derawar police station and recovered illegal weapons from their custody. Police also registered case against the accused.

Police Station Derawar Police’s Sub-Inspector Muhammad Arshad along with a police party arrived at Toba Azeem, Derawar responding to a call on 15 and saw two rival groups engaged in exchange of fire. Police said the fierce clash took place over a piece of land.

Police took timely action and arrested Shaheen Shahbaz and other groups’s Muhammad Jaffar. Police recovered a Kalashnikov along with four magazines, and 250 bullets from Shaheen Shahbaz and recovered a shotgun 12-bore with 45 bullets from Muhammad Jaffar. Police said Shahbaz open fire on the rival on the orders of Azmat Khan while Jaffar was acting for on the orders of Abdul Azeem Khan.
