Seven booked for torturing a youth to death

Mother says Iqbal was abducted and branded with hot iron rods

MULTAN: Police booked seven people on charges of torturing a youth to death in Lodhran.

The police arrested a culprit and registered a case against seven people.

A police official told The Express Tribune a woman lodged a complaint at the police station in which she stated that her son 22-year-old Muhammad Iqbal was serving as a teacher in a private school. She added on October 7, Iqbal received a call on his cellphone and he went out to meet someone.

She stated that after a few hours when her son did not return, she and her husband got worried and started searching for him. After hectic efforts, they found Iqbal in an unconscious condition in one of the streets near their house.

She said they took Iqbal home and when he gained consciousness he told them that accused Tasawar Ali, Farooq Ahmed, Jamil Ahmed, Shakil Ahmed and three others abducted him and took him to an undisclosed location. He added the culprits subjected him to inhumane torture and burnt his body with hot iron rods.

The victim’s mother stated that Iqbal managed to escape from the captivity of the accused but he was badly injured. She said they took him to a local hospital for treatment but he could not survive.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested an accused involved in the barbaric act and was conducting raids to arrest others nominated in the FIR.

Earlier in September, a young man was beaten to death with sticks over a dispute in Sargodha.

Muhammad Imran, a resident of Mubarak Village, had an argument with Arshad over litigation issues three days back. On the day of the incident, accused Arshad along with Sanaullah, Noman and others beat Imran with sticks and fled the scene. The victim suffered critical injuries and was shifted to a local hospital but he succumbed to injuries.

Pekhawar Khan | 6 years ago | Reply Tragic. Everybody need to understand that the mothers do not bore sons so they are killed for someone's honour, or misunderstanding. Only animals do such things! I repeat, ANIMALS.
