Wild Life Park: New park set up at cost of Rs14.5m

Park was inaugurated by Secretary Wildlife Punjab Mahr Babar Hassain Barwana.

A wildlife park is being set up on 16 acres land at Jhang, Chiniot road at a cost of Rs14.50 million. The park was inaugurated by Secretary Wildlife Punjab Mahr Babar Hassain Barwana on Wednesday.


Speaking at the ceremony, Barwana said that the Punjab chief minister approved this project with great interest which was a gift for the people of Jhang.

He said that the park would be expanded over time and would house a large number of wild animals and birds. “The park will also provide other recreational facilities,” he said. Barwana asked the district coordination officer (DCO) to arrange public transport for residents from the city to the Chanab Wildlife Park and asked that the site be regularly monitored to ensure timely completion of the recreation project.

Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain said that the Punjab government was completing various development projects at a cost of Rs500 million in the district.
