Two die in road accidents

Imran was travelling with his family when a truck hit their vehicle

SARGODHA: Two people were killed in different road accidents in the precincts of Bhalwal and Jauharabad police stations on Monday.

The police said that Imran Khan, a resident of Jamali Balochan, was travelling in a vehicle with his family on Jauhrabad-Muzaffargarh Road when a speedy truck hit them. As a result, Imran was killed on the spot, while his wife Shamim Akhtar and two daughters Zebun Nisa and Mehrun Nisa suffered injuries.

Six-year-old child dies in road accident

In another incident, a recklessly driven truck hit a motorcycle, injuring Muhammad Nadeem and Saleem. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a man was gunned down in Kotmomin police limits. The police said that Muhammad Riaz, a resident of Moazzamabad Tehsil, Kotmomin was sleeping in his house when unidentified people shot him dead. The police registered a case and started investigation.

Road accidents claim over a dozen lives

The police claimed to have arrested 24 drug peddlers and seized narcotics and illegal weapons from them.

The police said the teams of different police stations conducted raids and arrested 24 drug peddlers and confiscated 12.319 kilogrammes of hashish, 275 bottles of liquor, 18 pistols, four guns, a revolver, rounds and cartridges from them.
