Shahadatul Alia certificate equal to bachelor’s degree

The Higher Education Commission’s Equivalence and Accreditation Committee has decided to recognise the certificate issued by the Shahadatul Alia fil Uloomal Arabia Wal Islamia as an equivalent to a Bachelors degree.

However, students holding the certificate will have to appear for bachelors degree-level English language and Pakistan Studies subjects at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) or any other charted university. Moreover, they must also possess equivalence certificates for the Sanvia Aama and Sanvia Khasa from the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).

The committee has also decided that the concerned Wafaq may admit students to Sanvia Aama as per their own system of education with HEC waiving requirements for middle school certificate from holders of the Deeni Asnad.

Moreover, it has been decided that students who want to take admission in Masters degree programme for subjects other than Islamic Studies or Arabic after completing Shadadatul Alia.
