Bushra Bibi’s daughter moves LHC seeking permission to meet mother
She maintained that under jail rules, she is legally entitled to meet her mother

The daughter of Bushra Bibi approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday seeking permission to meet her mother, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail.
Mubashra Khawar Maneka filed the petition through Lahore High Court Bar Association President Asif Naswana. The Punjab government, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, and other relevant authorities have been made respondents in the case.
Bushra is currently serving a seven-year sentence in the £190 million corruption case. She was recently handed a 17-year prison term in the Toshakhana-II case, which concerned the purchase of an expensive jewellery set gifted to former Prime Minister Imran Khan by the Saudi crown prince during his May 2021 visit.

In her petition, the petitioner stated that Bushra Bibi is presently lodged in Adiala Jail and that she is her biological daughter. She maintained that under jail rules, she is legally entitled to meet her mother.
The petition further stated that, according to the prescribed schedule, Tuesdays are designated for family visits in jail. However, despite repeated attempts, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail has allegedly been denying her permission to meet her mother.
The petitioner requested the court to direct the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to arrange her immediate meeting with Bushra Bibi.
