LWMC imposed over 11,134 challans

LWMC holds all those people/organisations responsible who dispose of waste improperly

LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has imposed over 11,134 challans in Lahore during 2016-17 against all those people who were involved in improper, illegal dumping and transporting of waste.

A company spokesman said on Monday that 19 enforcement inspectors and 35 zonal officers have been given the authority to impose fine and ensure the implementation of LWMC SOP's. LWMC holds all those people/organisations responsible who dispose of waste improperly, throw waste in open plots and drains, use open vehicles for transportation of waste.

Nearly 8,000 waste containers are placed in Lahore to facilitate citizens and to provide them clean environment. Apart from this LWMC has devised a help line 1139 since 2011 which worked round the clock through which citizens could register their complaint on. LWMC Managing Director Bilal Mustafa Syed stated that LWMC was dedicated to facilitate citizens by working day and night to provide state of the art cleanliness services which can be seen in comparison to any other city of Pakistan.
