One of his friends and an old-student of Edwards College Peshawar, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, was the keynote speaker of the ceremony.
College Principal Neyyer Firdaus, teachers and students of the institution and family members paid glowing tributes to late professor who had been long time faculty of Edwards College Peshawar.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor highly eulogised the professional capabilities of the deceased as well as the services rendered by him for promotion of education and image building of the institution.
Late Prof Ziaul Qamar, he said, apart from contributing his services as a learned prominent figure in the field of education also used to contribute his valuable role for reforming the society by applying his artistic capabilities.
Jhagra, who is also the chairman of the Board of Governors of the College, said that Prof Qamar being his personal friend was very close to him.
The moments passed in his company, he added, are indeed memorable and there is a need to keep his services alive. The governor, an old-student of the college, also paid rich tributes to the role which the institution has been contributing in development of the country. Later on he also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
