Legislator wants debate over abduction of children

PTI’s legislator Nabil Hakim Ali Khan submitted an adjournment motion against abduction of children

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) sought a debate in the Punjab Assembly over the abduction of thousands of children all over the province.

PTI’s legislator Nabil Hakim Ali Khan submitted an adjournment motion against abduction of children. She said that 10,000 children had been abducted from various parts of the province,  including Lahore in the last seven years while their parents were waiting for their return. She added that more than 1,510 children were abducted in 2010.

“The abducted children are also abused.”

Khan said that these children are forced into beggary and other criminal activities. Most of the children were abducted from shrines, markets, parks and other public places, she said, adding that police officials have failed to rescue them. She requested the House to debate on this important issue.
